Back from Disneyland!

The family and I are back from Disneyland.  Some quick notes:

  • Despite my best memories, Pirates of the Caribbean is, indeed, too scary for a two-year-old.  And said two-year-old may insist on being carried for the whole rest of the day.
  • I read  neonepiphany's blog about The Da Vinci Code right before leaving, and it ruined my reading of my vacation book, Angels and Demons.  (Because she is right.)
  • Space Mountain is as cool as I remember.  (It seems gravity-driven for so long, that I expected the ride to end underground.)

  • The best place to stay when going to Disneyland is Best Western's Park Place Inn.
  • The magnitude of the Princess Marketing Phenomenon is staggering.

Any excuse to be carried around is a good excuse :)

I'm sorry! I didn't mean to ruin anything for you... :(

Don't be silly! I knew the risks before I read your critique. Besides, the gist of my comment is that your critique was correct. So while I read Angels and Demons, I kept running into spots where I'd think, "Ooh, Selva would have a field day with that line." (Only after my vacation did I discover that you read it too.) So, can someone whose favorite Shoujo manga is Peach Girl enjoy Kare Kano?

Well, I think *everyone* can enjoy Kare Kano! ^^ If you like Peach Girl, you should probably read Hana Yori Dango too (Boys Before Flowers).

Kare Kano: Will give it a shot! Hana Yori Dango: Appreciate the recommendation, but can't do it. Artwork crosses my saccharine-tolerance threshold. I know I'm missing some gems because of indefensible personal bias. What can I say? I'm proud enough that I got beyond my Kevin Costner and Girl Flick bias enough to watch and enjoy the rather good Upside of Anger.
