Hello Nurse

I can be so stupid and predictable.  I've always admired Salma Hayek.  And hot nurses easily turn my head.  (It's convenient that I married one.)  Heck, I even liked the hot evil puppet nurses in Silent Hill.

So, I found myself strangely compelled by the song "Happiness is a Warm Gun" in the movie Across the Universe.

It wasn't until after the movie was over that I realized that yes, indeed, Salma was the hot nurse.

Oh, and I adored Prudence's rendition of "I Want to Hold Your Hand."  So sad and beautiful.

We knew early on in the movie that Prudence was gay.  But it wasn't until I read a comment later at YouTube that I realized that during the song "Dear Prudence" Prudence comes out of a closet in which she'd been hiding, and everything finally becomes better for her.  Why didn't I notice the double entendre myself?

I can't believe I hadn't heard of this movie until you brought attention to it! (and what a way to draw attention to it! Yow! :D ) Now I HAVE to see it! (and no, not JUST for the nurses...although the thought helps!)

Wow, that's a pretty serious set of annotations at Wikipedia. Might have to track this one down.

Though it didn't seem like she ever hooked up with Sadie! Or did I miss something?

No, but that's OK. She at least had her acrobat later in the movie. I didn't know that there was a real Prudence that the Beatles were trying to encourage out of her room with that song. Almost makes the version in the movie a triple-entendre!
