I want...

...this clock.

And anybody with a blog named "gears and widgets" should have one, too.

Yes! Do it! Phoenix will never know!

Nari has this awesome gear clock in her study... I'll try to make her take a picture of it.

Awesome! I hope she does. It's the sort of thing I think we all find fascinating, and would love to see.

I was actually planning on pitching this to Gearlog tomorrow! :D I really want one.

Really? Where did you first see it? Did you post it?

If I'm not mistaken, I saw it at a blog called OhGizmo! http://www.ohgizmo.com/2007/05/30/wall-gear-clock-provides-mechanical-eye-candy/ Sadly, my editor didn't care for it too much and nixed it. So I'll be posting it at Gears and Widgets instead. ;)

I just saw the first comment at OhGizmo!. "The gears are purely decorativethey dont actually turn the clock. Theres one motor that turns the clock and another that turns the gears." Aw... That's disappointing.

To bad it isn't a binary clock (001, 010, 011, 100 ...)

Ooh, that's got appeal too. The appeal to this analog clock is completely orthogonal to that, though. It's nice looking at this clock and knowing only, it's 11:15ish.
