The V-U-Den Shrine

My other blogs are focussed on work and parenting.  I thought about converting this blog to a J-Pop blog, but that's still too broad in scope.  I've been an avid follower of all the Morning Musume graduates since 2001.  And no group better speaks to my heart than v-u-den.  They can say it better than I.

With that, I hereby rededicate this blog as the v-u-den shrine with the song, LovingAngelHeart.

April Fools!

My musical taste isn't more complex than the next average Joe's.  So, with full respect to the v-u-den fans in the world, let me just say that LovingAngelHeart is way too sweet for me, and that it fill me with abject horror and an odd, wrong fascination.

What J-Pop do I bliss out on?  No joke, I had to watch the Maeken Trance Project to wash the taste of the above video out of my mouth.

Now you know:  The line below refers to Maeken Trance Project, not LovingAngelHeart.

Now that's bliss.  Seriously, it just makes me happy.

Cute, perky Asian girls in micro-miniskirts and go-go boots bopping around in an abandoned mortuary to cheerily innocuous pop music, with slo-mo cut-aways to their slinky goth-girl alter-egos... what's not to like? Or at least, to be oddly, wrongly, and blissfully fascinated by? Another winner!

I admit music is not my strong side. But ... Actually ... I don't notice much difference. Sure there is difference but I would still put both in the same bin. Pop. Not bad but not my favourite I prefere clasic music, (Irish) balad, ... , the things you can enjoy while smoking a pipe and sipping a Port. *Yep, old man*

You didn't notice much of a difference between what and what? The two videos I linked? For me, the difference boils down to the genuine saccharine innocence of the LovingeAngeleHeart video, and the playful parody in Maeken's video. I enjoy the latter, and the prior just grates at me for some reason. I wonder if I'll ever be able to put it into words...

Yep, both songs you linked. I am not a music-video person so after watching a bit I switch to another window with some intersting reading stuff. Both sound interesting but I wouldn't want to listen to to to many of those songs in a row. After just a couple I would turn down the volume to a low background level.
