I'm watching another movie with You.

This time, it's Hirokazu Koreeda's "Still Walking." I'm loving it so far. It appears to be a slice-of-life type movie. Koreeda is one of my all time favorite directors. I hope I enjoy the rest of the movie this much.

Also, I know it's silly to use You's name as a play-on-words like that, but I couldn't resist, since this really is another movie I've seen with her in it.

Interesting. Let me know what you think when it's done... I love slice of life movies!

I loved it. Interesting combination of suburban middle-class slice-of-life with Japanese politeness and familial venom. It's a good movie, but it might be too slow for a lot of people.

Typical of the movie: There's a scene where the grownups are talking in a room open to the yard and the kids are in the yard taking turns with a blindfold and bat to break open a big ol' watermelon.

Will add to Netflix! (Assuming they have it; is that where you got it from?)

Yep, NetFlix Blu-ray disc. I don't know about instant streaming availability.

We've been doing a lot of discs since we moved, so I'm putting it up near the top. :)

So glad you saw this, +Pastilla LaMannequine ! I was going to write about it at Plurk to make sure you did. I imagine the movie hit you in a similar way.
