This is one of the reasons I re-played Half-Life and Half-Life 2 and let my son participate. It's the source of a gaming vernacular I want to share with him.

At the moment, he completely refuses to watch/play an RTS like StarCraft. I'll give him a little more time.  But eventually, he will learn the language and concepts.  What else have I to pass along, if not that?

You are doing a wonderful thing. When they noted that it was rare to find a game designer these days who's played MULE, I was stunned. Talk about a history that's slowly slipping away. Suddenly exhibits like the Art of Video Games take on a whole new meaning to me.
