One of my favorite books is Wayne Douglas Barlowe's Expedition. I bought it at the Andromeda Bookstore in Santa Barbara while I was at UCSB in the early 1990's. I was the only person I knew who owned it. As such, I felt a little lonely, because it just didn't seem to be widely known.

Last night, I watched The Discovery Channel's "Alien Planet." It was good to see interviews with Stephen Hawking, George Lucas, Michio Kaku and Jack Horner during a show that was so faithful to Expedition.

Also, my book seems to have appreciated to be worth $100.00 or more, now.

Good. So I'm not the only one who loved that book so much. But now I'm not so enthusiastic about allowing my kids to tear through it, even though I do want to share it. :)
