Chromebook?

Yep!  As soon as it arrived, I flipped that Developer Mode switch like it was a circus poodle.  That's the Bash shell you see in the background.

The thing that shouldn't have surprised me?  I couldn't watch last night's Penny Arcade TV.  The video is QuickTime. Argh!!  Maybe I'll have to install Ubuntu after all.

Aww, the dumb thing can't make a VPN connection to my work's network.  I'm returning it after all.  But I really wanted to keep it.  The laptop itself was just fine.

I love my Air!  But, yeah, too bad about the Chromebook.  Like you said, though.... I'm sure they're close
