My wife and I decided to do some Winter Cleaning, and sorted through some VHS tapes and audio cassette tapes.

Our 11-year-old daughter dropped by and asked, "What's that?" So we showed her her first cassette tape. Her Hello Kitty CD player had a cassette tape player, too, so we popped it in, and showed her the nature of the device. You can only listen to one side, and if you want to hear it again, you could either rewind to the beginning, or play through the second side, which would accomplish the same thing. Foreign concepts!

One thing that was amazingly cool that she didn't expect was the attention to detail and the artistry in the liner notes. A wonderful artifact of a bygone era.

Yes, we have LPs. Wait until she sees those!

I had a bunch of anime ones at one time, but I sold them when I sold the laserdisc player.
