Welcome

This is my personal little spot at dlma.com. At the moment, it's just a portal of sorts.

Since the '90s I've established a few presences on the web. Back then I created a static website. After that, I made a family-oriented blog, a work blog, and I maintained a livejournal account. I never knew what I'd want to do with david.dlma.com though. I've always felt that that particular URL would be reserved for something especially me.

I still don't know what that me will be.

In the meantime, and around this neighborhood, you can find the following things:

Here's a little bit more about me.

    Hi David

    A belated welcome to Habari.

I love your lifestream - simple, effective, striking and looks great.

PS. I ported Brian Gardner's Whitespace to Habari (as an experiment as I can't spell PHP or CSS :-) but I didn't think the even/odd comment colouring ever worked even on WP.

Did you add this yourself or just fix what was there ? In any case, please can I add your patch into the latest version of Whitespace as I think the alternate comments look good.

    Hi Andy!

Thanks. Let's take this to email. (I filled in a comment form at your site.) I'd be happy to share anything I've done that others might find useful.

I'm trying to put together pretty much the same look to my lifestream that your's has. Is yours running off of anything (like sweetcron or something like that?)

I'm not exactly sure where to start.

I really like what you've done with yours. Good job.

    Thanks
    Will

    Hi Will,

The style of my lifestream is based off of Jeremy Keith's. But the back end is a custom python script that I wrote. My script uses Mark Pilgrim's feedparser module. If you have a blog, both WordPress and Habari have lifestream Add-Ons, you may want to look at those, too.
